HEAVY TRASH UPDATE FOR BINGLEWOOD!
We have been in contact with our City representatives on your behalf and have placed numerous 3-1-1 tickets (as have many of you) and still our Binglewood heavy trash has not been picked up! We are scheduled for the 4th Thursday of even months for heavy trash and odd months for tree waste only. Since we were skipped in October, we now have tree debris mixed with junk waste covering front yards, curbs and even into the street. Unfortunately, this is a city-wide delay. They are still working on 3rd Tuesday trash pickup which means the heavy trash that should have been picked up on Tuesday, October 15th! The Solid Waste Department is telling us that they are not likely to get to 4th week heavy trash until next month (December). They believe the extensive delay is the result of picking up not only heavy trash, but also the residual storm debris. District A is encouraging people to come to the weekly public session and speak before the Mayor and City Council. Council Member Peck is planning to speak at the November 20th council session. YOU CAN EMAIL THE MAYOR'S OFFICE AT MAYOR@HOUSTONTX.GOV AND SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT AT SWDWORKS@HOUSTONTX.GOV OR CALL 3-1-1.
We welcome both residents and visitors to the official Binglewood Civic Association's website. Learn about our community and get involved or even consider moving in.
Located deep in the heart of Houston, Texas, Binglewood is a community of over 700 single-story 3- and 4- bedroom brick homes built from the 1950's to the 1990's. Binglewood offers large lots, mature hardwood trees and lovely landscaping. A neighborhood park is located in the middle of the subdivision with a playground, walking trail and pet waste stations.
Binglewood is a deed restricted community. The Binglewood Civic Association is a very active property owners association and holds monthly meetings for residents. The annual dues are only $50.00! Binglewood homeowners take exceptional pride in their homes and community. Because of the hard work of our residents, the Binglewood Civic Association was presented with a Blue Ribbon Award from the City of Houston for exemplary service in landscaping esplanades, developing a Citizens on Patrol Program, organizing a recycling project and generally revitalizing the neighborhood.
